Janice Japiassu sings her poems with melodies of Schumann (1-4), minuets of Bach (5-7), and pieces of Béla Bartók (8-14), accompanied by the guitar of Flávia Ferreira and the cello of Rosilda Vasconcelos. Contracanto was inspired by the female juvenile prisoners at the Fundac and is dedicated to the girls and boys of Recife, in particular the abandoned ones, hoping that they break all the restraints of the world singing and dancing.
